Who can be a Tutor Scout?

  • Anyone, as long as you have tutor connections in Singapore

What is the reward structure?

  • S$20 cash (paid via PayNow / Bank Transfer) for every successful tutor referral
  • Successful tutor referral is defined as either (i) the referred tutor completing 2 weeks of lessons, or (ii) CocoTutors receiving commission payment from the parent

How do you track tutor referrals?

  • Your (Referrer’s) unique code is your name and mobile number (i.e. “John Pang, 9123 4567”)
  • Share the tuition assignment that you think another tutor (Referee) would be willing to take up
  • The Referee would need to add your unique code when he/she applies to the assignment via our Telegram Bot – they can add this under their (i) Tutor Profile description, or under the field (ii) Rates/Timeslots/First lesson date
  • We will contact you once the tutor is successfully selected by the Parent, and once lesson commences
  • Payout would only happen after successful completion of 2 weeks of lessons

What happens if the Parent cancels before the two weeks is complete?

  • No referral fee would be received in the event of early cancellation

How would I get paid?

  • The payment method is either through PayNow or Bank Transfer

Is there a limit to how many people I can refer?

  • No, there is no cap on the number of people you can refer for each assignment
  • For instance, you can have 10 tutors applying for the assignment

How do I track my referrals?

  • We will update you once there is a successful matching 

Can I refer myself?

  • No. Self-referrals are not allowed. But if you want to teach and earn, you can sign up as a tutor separately
  • However, you can become a tutor scout at the same time

What kind of tutors are you looking for?

  • We’re open to: university students, A Level graduates, MOE School teachers, working professional, full-time tutor
  • Subject: English, Maths, Science, Chinese, Economics, General Paper, and more

Do I need to do anything after referring someone?

  • No – you can sit back and relax once you’ve sent your referral
  • But to increase your chances of a successful matching, you can: remind your friend to complete their profile properly, encourage to respond as quickly once the assignment is posted

What if my referral forgets to write my name in the form?

  • Unfortunately, if they don’t list you as their referrer (or use your link/code), we won’t be able to credit the referral to you
  • Remind them to list you correctly during assignment sign ups!
